It really makes our day at Santa Barbara Chocolate to receive emails from our happy customers. Below is a wonderful letter we received from a customer detailing her wedding experience in Santa Barbara:
The Diamond and Chocolate Wedding of my Dreams
Even before my new husband popped the question I knew what kind of wedding I would have. Being a Santa Barbara girl I had always gazed longingly upon the plush white walls of the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel nestled against the dusty looking mountains and the shimmering blue sea. And this summer my dream finally came true, we had the wedding of a lifetime at the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel overlooking the beach, and we didn’t hesitate to pull out all the stops for a day to remember.
Every bride dreams of her big day being perfect and mine was without a doubt the most luxurious afternoon I have ever enjoyed. From the second I stepped down the aisle in my silk white dress all the stress of the last few months just seemed to melt away. The gorgeous blooms of flowers permeated the air, the string band played beautifully and the wisps of silk against the pacific backdrop made me shed a tear in delight.
As a lady with a sweet tooth I also decided to incorporate a chocolate and diamond theme into my wedding. I can’t think of anything better in this world then sinking down in your favorite spot with a box of chocolates and a glass of champagne. To incorporate the diamonds was easy, lots of glitter and sparkles and even crushed gems in the champagne glasses! Then of course there was the chocolate, we decided to opt for the chocolate fondue bar at the reception and I must say it was a hit! The bar was laid out beautifully with fondues brimming with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate. The catering staff had placed overflowing bowls of jeweled fruits, skewers of strawberries and fluffy marshmallows, and plenty of gourmet snacks ready for dipping. We even had these gorgons edible flowers laid out that made the children squeal in delight.
Alongside the chocolate fondue we also set up some stunning little taster plates in a unique style adorned in sweet little chocolates from the Santa Barbara Chocolate California Collections range. The plates of chocolates were balanced on a stand in the shape of a beautiful billowing tree, which in turn was punctuated in tiny diamonds. We had a little sign that called it the chocolate tree and our guests would come and pluck a delectable little chocolate from the branches. It was so much fun!
In my desire to spread the joy of all things chocolate and diamonds on my big day I didn’t stop there. The flower arrangements on each table were studded with tiny crystals and little chocolates were strategically placed in the bloom of each flower. I had my two nieces as bridesmaids and being only four and six they went around with little faux diamond studded baskets handing out sweet treats to all the guests. It was super cute.
As the night went on all that drinking, dancing and dipping seemed to get to everyone and the yawns began to spread. The stars were already high in the sky when the first guests started dropping back to their rooms. My new hubby and I were also eager to go back to the hotel room and start married life, we were jetting off to Tuscany the next day for the honeymoon. I wish I could have been there to see our guest’s faces when they entered their rooms at the Four Seasons and found a small bottle of champagne and a clear favor box with four beautiful Santa Barbara Chocolates placed inside. We left these on everybody’s pillow so that the people we loved could share in our love and have a small celebration to finish off the most beautiful day off my life.
